This two-day workshop will teach students a unique silkscreen technique, resulting in amazing ceramic objects! On the first day, using smartphones and digital cameras, students will go on a "photographic expedition" near the Banana Factory. They will then learn how to use Photoshop to create a transparency ready for burning to a silkscreen. By the end of class, students will have made their silkscreen (that is theirs to keep). Teaching artist Gillian Pokalo will also demonstrate how to pull a screen print. On day two, Teaching Artist Sharon Bartmann will demonstrate how to screen print onto clay and how to transfer photo screen printed images onto greenware. Students will use a variety of hand-building techniques that feature their photographic screen prints. All work completed will be fired and available for pickup the following week. All materials are included. This class is for students aged 15 and older.
