This four-week course is designed to teach students how to create a three-dimensional image on a two-dimensional surface. This is achieved through a drawing method known as Chiaroscuro, which uses lights and darks to create form. Students will learn to recognize the effect of light on four basic forms - the sphere, cylinder, cone and cube. All other subjects begin using one or more of these forms. The ensuing drawings may be done from life and/or from photos, and may incorporate the use of a grid to help achieve accuracy. Artists with all levels of experience are welcome in this class; everyone can benefit from learning this method. All materials are included with this course. This class is for students aged 17 and older.
