Cyanotype is a photographic printing process that produces a cyan-blue print. Non-hazardous chemicals are brushed onto watercolor paper or other porous surfaces, and with a negative placed directly on the paper, exposed to light. Participants will learn to make cyanotypes from either traditional large format, silver negatives which they supply or from digital negatives. Participants should bring large format silver negatives if they have them, digital black and white image files, a pencil and a notebook. This workshop is designed for photographers with no prior experience in alternative processes – but all are welcome to participate!
