The SteelWalkers Tours, presented by The Bethlehem Steelworks' Archives at SteelStacks, offer the only Hoover Mason Trestle tours guided exclusively by steelworkers.

The guides worked between 20-45 years in the Bethlehem Plant and have firsthand experience and knowledge of all aspects of the steelmaking process. Hear the step by step path taken over the rails of the PBNE railroad from the Coke Works, the Sintering Plant, the Machine shops, the Scrap Prep and the Power House. You’ll learn about these units and how they all played a part loading the Blast Furnaces which produced the iron.

Representing the melting pot of industrial America, our guides are the sons and daughters of more than 60 ethnic groups that came to the United States to seek a better life for their families. With their unique backgrounds and expertise, these guides offer the living history of Bethlehem Steel.

Tours begin at the Visitor Center at SteelStacks, 711 E. First St. Each tour concludes with a question-and-answer session with a longtime steelworker.
